This one-week Umrah trip to Madinah and Makkah offers a spiritually enriching experience, beginning with a few days in Madinah to visit the Prophet's Mosque (Al-Masjid an-Nabawi), where pilgrims can offer prayers, visit the Rawdah, and reflect at Jannat al-Baqi cemetery. After Madinah, the journey continues to Makkah, where pilgrims perform the Umrah rituals including Tawaf (circumambulation) around the Kaaba, Sa'i (walking) between the hills of Safa and Marwah, and concluding with the symbolic cutting of hair. This trip not only fulfills religious duties but also provides an opportunity to explore historical sites, such as Mount Uhud in Madinah and the Cave of Hira in Makkah, deepening the pilgrim's connection to Islamic heritage.
Day 1: Al Madinah
On arrival at Madinah Airport, your driver will welcome and assist you and transfer you to your chosen hotel. Rest of the day is free to rest and relax.
Day 2: Al Madinah (Mount Uhud)
After breakfast, begin your tour in Madinah at Quba Mosque, one of the oldest mosques in Islam that holds great significance as the first mosque built by the Prophet Muhammad after his migration from Makkah to Madinah. It stands as a symbol of early Islamic architecture and spirituality,
with its simple, yet elegant, design and historical importance. Pilgrims and visitors to Quba Mosque engage in prayers and contemplation, reflecting on its unique status in Islamic history and its association with the Prophet's teachings of peace, unity, and community. The mosque's serene atmosphere and spiritual ambiance make it a revered destination for Muslims worldwide, who seek blessings and divine connection through their visit to this sacred site. After, explore the historical and spiritual significance of Mount Uhud near Madinah, site of the pivotal Battle of Uhud in 625 CE. Day 3: Madinah (Al Masjid Al Nabawi)
After breakfast, begin your tour in Madinah by visiting the Museum of the Prophet Muhammad Mosque that serves as a significant cultural and historical site commemorating the life and teachings of the Prophet Muhammad, the central figure of Islam. This museum showcases artifacts, manuscripts and exhibits depicting various aspects of the Prophet's life, including his birth, childhood, prophethood, teachings and legacy. Visitors can explore the rich history of Islam through interactive displays, multimedia presentations and guided tours, offering insights into the Prophet's character, achievements, and contributions to humanity. The Prophet's Mosque, Al Masjid Al Nabawi, is the second mosque built by the Islamic prophet Muhammad in Madinah, after that of Quba, as well as the second largest mosque and holiest site in Islam, after the Masjid al-Haram in Makkah, in the Saudi region of the Hejaz. The mosque is located at the heart of Madinah and is a major site of pilgrimage that falls under the purview of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques. Overnight at your hotel in Madinah. [B]
Day 4: Madinah (Discover the city)
Today, begin your tour in Madinah with a visit to Al Ghammamah Mosque, 655 feet away from the courtyards of the Prophet’s Mosque. It was one of the Prophet's prayer grounds, to which he would go out to lead people in Eid and rain-invoking prayers. It embraces memories of the Prophet's life and the fragrant civilizational history of Muslims. The Al Miqat Mosque, one of the most important historical landmarks of Madinah. On their way to the Sacred Mosque of Makkah, pilgrims from or passing through Madinah stop at this mosque. Here they give up all worldly appearances and put on Ihram garments in their journey of faith, hoping only for Allah's mercy and reward in the Hereafter. Ali Just across Al Miqat is Bin Abi Taleb Mosque both located in the area known as “the Seven Mosques”. Ali ibn Abi Talib Mosque is a destination for visitors who want to explore Islamic cultural heritage. The Prophet Muhammad performed Eid prayer on the site, as did Ali ibn Abi Talib after the Prophet's death. The museum is considered one of the historical tourist destinations in Madinah. It was established in 1419 AH, corresponding to 1998 CE, and was inaugurated by Prince Abdulmajeed ibn Abdulaziz. Overnight at your hotel in Madinah. [B]
Day 5: Madinah, Makkah
After breakfast at the hotel, you’ll be driven to Madinah’s railroad station to take the train to Makkah.
On arrival you’ll be transferred to your hotel and given time to perform Umrah. Later, we proceed for a Makkah sightseeing. Makkah is located in a desert valley in western Saudi Arabia and is Islam’s holiest city, as it’s the birthplace of the prophet Muhammad and the faith itself. Only Muslims are allowed in the city with millions arriving for the annual Hajj (pilgrimage) and for Umrah during the rest of the year. Dating from the 7th century, the central Masjid al-Haram (Sacred Mosque) is surrounded by the Kaaba, the cloth-covered cubic structure that’s Islam’s most sacred shrine. Head back to your hotel in Makkah for overnight. [B]
Day 6: Makkah (Wadi Fatimah)
We will drive first to the Two Holy Mosques Architecture Exhibition. After, we’ll visit the Masjid Aisha, also known as Masjid at-Tan’eem. In the afternoon we’ll continue to Wadi Fatimah, also known as Mur al Dhahran valley, and will see also the Al Fateh Mosque. Our trip will end with the visit of the Grave of Maymuna bint al-Harith the wife of the prophet. Head to the hotel in Makkah for overnight.
Day 7: Makkah (Cultural District)
Hira Cultural District, covering an area estimated at 16.5 acres and located next to the famous landmark of Makkah, Jabal Al-Nour, provides a uniquely enriching experience in a cultural, historical and entertaining journey to keep the worlds of the past alive in our memory. Here, housed in the historic Al Zaher Palace, once a royal household, the Makkah Museum holds exhibits telling the history of Makkah, the archaeology of Saudi and the story of the rise of Islam. The building is a masterpiece of Islamic art and architecture. New black, pure-silk clothing for the Kaaba, called kiswa, is made by the Kiswa Factory of the Holy Kaaba (King Abdulaziz Complex) every year. It is embroidered with silver wires painted with glittering gold, with which Quranic verses and supplications are written. The clothing is used to cover "The Ancient House" (another name for Kaaba) to which Muslims' hearts are written. After the visit the Kiswa factory is finished, we return to the hotel with the rest of the day at leisure. [B]
Day 8: Makkah, USA
You may have some time for another prayer depending on your flight schedule. At the appointed time, your driver will pick you up at the hotel for your transfer to Jeddah airport to board you flight back home. [B]
